• Tulsi Ramsay cast Aarti Gupta as the lead in 'Purana Mandir' (1984) after seeing her in a small role in another film. He later admitted he took a gamble because she had zero horror experience — but her scream during the first test shot convinced him she could carry the film.
• On the set of '3D Saamri' (1985), Tulsi would physically position Aarti in front of the camera to block her from seeing the monster prop until the exact moment of the jump scare. Her genuine, unscripted flinch became the film's most replayed shot.
• Because Aarti Gupta agreed to do 'Tahkhana' (1986) on short notice when the original heroine dropped out, Tulsi Ramsay finished the film in 28 days — a record for the Ramsay brothers. That speed later inspired their nephew to adopt a similar 'shoot fast, scare faster' approach for his own B-movie debut.
• During the 'Purana Mandir' shoot, Tulsi and Aarti developed a ritual: before every night scene, they'd share a cup of chai and listen to a cassette of old Hindi film songs to shake off the creepy atmosphere. Aarti later said that chai break was the only thing that stopped her from quitting horror films entirely.
• Aarti Gupta once told a fanzine: 'Tulsi bhai would whisper the dialogue to me just before the camera rolled, so my reaction would be fresh. He never let me rehearse the scary parts. I think he enjoyed scaring me as much as the audience.'
