• They first shared screen space in 'Lovers' (1983) because the director needed a pair of character actors who could play contrasting foils — Kapoor as the stern patriarch, Hingoo as the comic relief — and neither had worked in a love-triangle setup before.
• In 'Naya Kadam' (1984), Kapoor’s intense, slow-burn delivery forced Hingoo to speed up his comic timing — Hingoo later said he had to 'chase Kapoor’s pauses' to land his punchlines.
• During the shoot of 'Badi Bahen' (1993), Kapoor and Hingoo shared a room in a small Ooty hotel for three weeks because the production budget was too tight for separate rooms — they reportedly argued every night over whose turn it was to turn off the generator.
