• Hrishikesh was a first-time director when he cast Vivek in Velaiyilla Pattathari (2014). Vivek was already a star. He took a chance on a newcomer because the script clicked. That film put both of them on the map overnight.
• On the sets of Velaiyilla Pattathari, Vivek would rewrite his own lines in Tamil slang. Hrishikesh let him run with it. That loose, improvisational energy became the film's signature — especially in the 'Why this Kolaveri Di' scene.
• Velaiyilla Pattathari 2 (2017) was a direct sequel — rare for Tamil cinema at the time. It didn't work as well, but it proved that a star-comedian duo could carry a franchise without a romantic lead. No other actor-director pair tried that again until years later.
