• Nayanthara and Arya first worked together in 'Boss Engira Bhaskaran' (2010) because director M. Rajesh specifically wrote the female lead with Nayanthara in mind after seeing her in 'Billa' — but Arya had to convince her to sign on, since she was initially hesitant about doing a comedy.
• In 'Raja Rani' (2013), Arya deliberately held back his usual high-energy comedy to let Nayanthara's quieter, more emotional performance breathe — he told the director he wanted her pain to be the center of their scenes together.
