• Thangar Bachan was a debutant director when he cast Pyramid Natarajan as producer for Azhagi (2002). Natarajan had never produced a film before either. Two first-timers betting on each other — and it worked.
• On Solla Marandha Kadhai (2002), Bachan wrote the script in a single night after Natarajan challenged him to finish it before sunrise. Natarajan then greenlit the film the next morning without reading a single page.
• Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy (2005) was the first Tamil film to be shot entirely in the Chidambaram temple town. Natarajan pushed for the location shoot, and the local tourism board still uses stills from the film in their brochures.
• After Azhagi released, Bachan and Natarajan made a pact: no written contracts between them. Every subsequent film was done on a handshake. Karumegangal Kalaiginrana (2023) was also made without a single signed paper.
• "Natarajan is the only producer who let me shoot a 12-minute single-take song without asking how much it costs." — Thangar Bachan, in a 2023 interview about Karumegangal Kalaiginrana.
• For Solla Marandha Kadhai, Bachan wanted a non-linear narrative. Natarajan hated the idea and said it would confuse audiences. Bachan shot two versions — linear and non-linear — and showed both to a test audience. The non-linear version won. Natarajan never questioned his editing again.
