• Sasikumar cast Soori in Poraali (2011) after seeing him in a small comedy role in a TV serial. Soori was a last-minute replacement — the original actor backed out, and Sasikumar took a chance on a relative unknown.
• In Sundarapandian (2012), Sasikumar wrote Soori's dialogue in real time on set. Soori would improvise a line, and Sasikumar would rewrite the scene around it. That's why Soori's comedy feels organic — it was literally built on his own timing.
• Their combo in Sundarapandian directly inspired the 'hero-friend' template for a wave of 2010s Tamil rural films. Directors like Pandiraj and Raju Murugan later admitted they wrote buddy characters with Sasikumar-Soori's dynamic in mind.
• Sasikumar and Soori have a standing rule: no ego on set. Soori once said in an interview that Sasikumar lets him rewrite his own lines even when Sasikumar is the director. They never rehearse together — they trust each other to react in the moment.
