• Rekha and Randhir Kapoor didn't plan to work together. They were cast in 'Khazana' (1987) because the producer needed a big name opposite Randhir, and Rekha was the only one who said yes on short notice. No one expected them to click, but they did.
• On the set of 'Mother' (1999), Randhir would deliberately flub his lines to make Rekha laugh. She'd break character, and he'd keep a straight face. The director had to shoot multiple takes because of this — but the final cut used the takes where she was barely holding it together.
• After 'Khazana' flopped, Randhir called Rekha and said, 'At least we tried something different.' She replied, 'We tried nothing. The script was the problem.' They didn't speak for a year after that call. They only reconciled when a mutual friend forced them to meet for lunch in 1995.
• Rekha once told a journalist: 'Randhir is the only co-star who made me forget my lines. Not because he was distracting — because he was so bad at remembering his own that I'd start laughing and lose track.' She said this at a 2014 press event for 'Super Nani'.
• Their third film 'Super Nani' (2014) was the only one where they played a married couple. The film's poster — showing Rekha in a grey wig and Randhir in a wheelchair — became a meme template on Indian Twitter for 'old couple goals' for about two weeks in 2015.
