• Jaishankar was already a star when he agreed to act in Iruvallavargal (1966), but he insisted on casting debutant K. V. Srinivasan as the villain — Srinivasan was a stage actor with zero film experience, and Jaishankar personally vouched for him to the producer.
• On the sets of Kadhalithal Podhuma (1967), Jaishankar would deliberately slow down his dialogue delivery during their confrontation scenes — he told Srinivasan it made the villain look more menacing. Srinivasan later said that pause became his signature style.
• After Selva Magal (1967) wrapped, Jaishankar gifted Srinivasan his own wristwatch — a HMT Pilot — because Srinivasan had mentioned he couldn't afford one. Srinivasan wore it to every film set for the next decade.
• "He didn't treat me like a newcomer. He treated me like a co-star. That's why I gave him my best." — K. V. Srinivasan, in a 1992 interview with Kumudam, about working with Jaishankar.
• The success of their three-film run directly led to Srinivasan being cast as the lead villain in the 1968 blockbuster Thillana Mohanambal — a role that made him a household name. Jaishankar had recommended him to director A. P. Nagarajan.
• They never worked together again after 1967 — not because of a fallout, but because Srinivasan told Jaishankar he wanted to prove himself without his mentor's shadow. Jaishankar respected that and never offered him another film.
