• Yogi Babu was originally not in Asuran. Director Vetrimaaran wanted a different actor for the comic sidekick role. But Thalaivasal Vijay, who played the village elder, personally recommended Yogi Babu after seeing his work in a small film. Vetrimaaran trusted Vijay's gut and cast Yogi Babu on the spot.
• In Kaithi, Thalaivasal Vijay played the stern police officer while Yogi Babu played the terrified informant. Vijay deliberately kept his dialogue delivery cold and clipped to make Yogi Babu's nervous stammer feel more real. Yogi Babu later said Vijay's silence in those scenes forced him to improvise his panic — none of it was scripted.
• On the sets of Yaanai, the two shared a room for 45 days. Every morning, Thalaivasal Vijay would make filter coffee for both of them using a small stove he carried from home. Yogi Babu still calls him 'Coffee Uncle' in private.
• Their double-act in Asuran — Vijay as the worried father and Yogi Babu as the loyal friend — directly inspired the comic-relief duo in the 2022 web series 'Vadhandhi'. The showrunner admitted in an interview that he wanted 'that same Asuran energy' for the side characters.
• Yogi Babu said in a 2023 podcast: 'Thalaivasal sir doesn't act with you. He acts at you. If he glares, I don't need to act scared — I actually get scared. That's why our scenes work.'
• In Kasethan Kadavulada, they played a father-son duo for the first time. Thalaivasal Vijay insisted on rehearsing every scene with Yogi Babu in full costume — even the scenes where they weren't on camera together. He said it helped Yogi Babu 'feel like a real son' instead of a comedian doing a bit.
