• Kishore was a theatre actor with zero film experience when director Susi Ganesan cast him in Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu (2009). Soori, already a known comedian, was brought in to add comic relief — but Kishore's raw intensity on set pushed Soori to sharpen his timing, and they ended up improvising the film's most famous banter scene together.
• In Kanchana 3 (2019), Soori played the comic sidekick while Kishore played the menacing villain. Their scenes worked because Soori deliberately slowed his delivery to match Kishore's deadpan menace — Kishore later said Soori 'gave me space to breathe in a horror comedy, which is rare.'
• The Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu franchise directly launched the career of director Susi Ganesan's son, who acted as a child in the first film. But the bigger ripple: the film's kabadi-centric plot inspired a wave of rural sports films in Tamil cinema, including the 2015 hit Jil Jung Juk.
• Kishore and Soori have never hung out outside sets. In a 2023 interview, Soori admitted they don't even have each other's phone numbers — they only meet when a director brings them together. 'We are work friends, not real friends,' he said, laughing.
