• Prabhu and Singampuli first teamed up in Sankarankovil (2011) because the director wanted a fresh comic duo. Singampuli, then a rising comedian, specifically asked for Prabhu as his straight man — he felt Prabhu's deadpan delivery would make his own loud comedy land harder.
• In Muthuramalingam (2017), Singampuli wrote most of his own lines on set, and Prabhu would silently adjust his timing to match. Prabhu once told the crew: 'He sets the rhythm, I just follow the beat.' That back-and-forth made their scenes feel like a live improv act.
• Their 2023 film Kather Basha Endra Muthuramalingam directly inspired a minor trend in Tamil cinema: the 'double-hero comedy with a twist' format. At least two low-budget comedies that year copied their structure of a serious hero paired with a chaotic sidekick who turns out to be the real brains.
• Off-screen, Prabhu and Singampuli are close enough that Singampuli calls Prabhu 'Anna' (elder brother). During the shoot of Sankarankovil, Singampuli's father passed away — Prabhu quietly paid for the funeral and never told the press. Singampuli only revealed it in a 2023 interview.
• Singampuli said in a 2023 interview: 'Prabhu sir is the only actor who can make me look good even when my jokes bomb. He doesn't laugh at my lines — he laughs at my pauses. That's a gift.'
