• Kaja and Deepa first worked together in 'Manthoppu Killiye' (1979) because the director, S. A. Chandrasekhar, was convinced no other pair could sell the film's raw village romance. He cast them specifically to recreate the earthy chemistry he saw in real-life couples.
• In 'Theru Vilakku' (1980), Kaja would deliberately slow down his dialogue delivery during emotional scenes to match Deepa's natural rhythm. She later said in an interview that he 'never rushed her' — that patience made their arguments on screen feel real, not rehearsed.
