• Suresh and Revathi first met on the sets of Agaya Thamaraigal (1985). The director, K. Vijayan, paired them because he wanted fresh faces — neither had a major hit before. That film became their launchpad.
• In Maragadha Veenai (1986), Suresh deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery to match Revathi's natural rhythm. She later said that made their scenes feel like real conversations, not performances.
• Their pairing in Selvi (1985) was so well-received that the film's success directly led to director K. Vijayan casting them again in Marumagal (1986) — a rare back-to-back collaboration for a non-star couple at the time.
