• During the shoot of Mahalakshmi (1960), Mynavathi's mother fell ill. Pandari Bai quietly paid for her treatment and never told anyone. Mynavathi only found out years later from a hospital clerk.
• Pandari Bai was already a big name when she agreed to play Mynavathi's mother-in-law in Anbukkor Anni (1960). Mynavathi was just 17 and nervous. Pandari Bai personally asked the director to cast her, saying the girl had 'fire in her eyes'.
