• Their first film together, Thotti Gang (2002), was a disaster at the box office. But M.S. Narayana saw something in Naresh's timing and insisted they try again. That second chance gave us Dongala Bandi (2008), which became a cult hit.
• In Seema Tapakai (2011), Naresh would deliberately pause his lines mid-sentence. That was the cue for Narayana to jump in with an improvised punchline. They never rehearsed those moments — it was all live-wire instinct.
