• Ravikumar didn't originally cast Yogi Babu in Remo (2016). Yogi Babu was a last-minute replacement after the original actor dropped out. Ravikumar later said he was nervous about the gamble — but Yogi Babu's improv in the hospital scene made him laugh so hard he knew it worked.
• In En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom (2017), Ravikumar gave Yogi Babu free rein to rewrite his own dialogues on set. Yogi Babu would take a simple line and stretch it into a 2-minute rant. Ravikumar kept the camera rolling and let him go — that's why every scene they share feels like a live comedy show.

• In Aranmanai 4 (2024), Ravikumar deliberately wrote a horror-comedy scene where Yogi Babu had to react to a ghost without any dialogue — just facial expressions. Ravikumar shot 14 takes, each time asking Yogi Babu to try a different fear level. The final cut used take 11, where Yogi Babu's eyes went completely still. That scene became the film's most shared clip on social media.
