• Their first film together, Manam Kothi Paravai (2012), almost didn't happen. The director wanted a different actor for Naren's role. Singampuli personally vouched for him, telling the team Naren would bring the raw village energy the script needed. That call got Naren the part.
• In Psycho (2020), Singampuli played a mentally unstable character. Naren, playing the investigating officer, deliberately slowed his own dialogue delivery in every scene they shared. He told the director he wanted Singampuli's erratic rhythm to stand out — so the audience would feel the tension through the mismatch in their speech speeds.
