• Samuthirakani was the one who pushed director Samuthirakani to cast Gnanasambandam in Poraali (2011). He saw him in a small theater role and insisted he was perfect for the villain — the director initially wanted a bigger name.
• On the set of Nimirndhu Nil (2014), Gnanasambandam would deliberately slow down his dialogue delivery to throw Samuthirakani off rhythm — forcing him to react more naturally. That tension became the scene's energy.
• Their Rajini Murugan (2016) — a massive 8.7/10 hit — directly launched the trend of 'village comedy villains' in Tamil cinema. Every other masala film for the next two years copied Gnanasambandam's loud, theatrical style from that film.
