• Anuradha was already a star when she signed Madurai Sooran (1984). Vijayakanth was still finding his footing. She agreed to the film only after the director promised her a strong role — not just a love interest. That film became their first hit together.
• In Nooravathu Naal (1984), a murder mystery, Anuradha played the investigating officer while Vijayakanth was the suspect. She set the pace in every interrogation scene — her sharp, clipped dialogue delivery forced him to underplay his reactions. That restraint made his character more suspicious.
