• They were paired together for the first time in Pulan Visaranai (1990) because director R. K. Selvamani needed a fresh face opposite Vijayakanth — Vaishnavi was a last-minute replacement after the original heroine walked out over a scheduling clash.
• In Santhana Kaatru (1990), Vijayakanth deliberately slowed down his usual rapid-fire dialogue delivery in every scene with Vaishnavi — he told the dubbing studio that her soft voice needed space to land, so he cut his own lines shorter to let her reactions breathe.
• During the shoot of Maanagara Kaaval (1991), Vaishnavi would bring homemade snacks for the entire crew every Friday — Vijayakanth later admitted in a magazine interview that he started looking forward to those Fridays more than the shoot itself.
