• Ranjith and Charle first met on the sets of 'Ninaithen Vandhai' (1998). Ranjith was a newcomer, and Charle was already a known comedian. The director paired them as a comic duo on a whim — and it clicked so well that they became a regular team for the next decade.
• In 'Hello' (1999), Ranjith played the straight man to Charle's manic energy. Charle would often improvise lines on set, and Ranjith would react in real time — their timing was so tight that director Selva rarely needed retakes.
