• Raj Kapoor was a huge star in Tamil cinema when he agreed to do Chinna Jameen (1993) with Sukanya, who was still a newcomer. He personally asked the director to cast her after seeing her in a small role — he felt she had the right 'village girl' energy for his character's love interest.
• In Seeman (1994), Sukanya's character was the emotional anchor — she had to cry in almost every scene. Raj Kapoor would deliberately stay in character between takes, sitting silently next to her, so she could feed off his mood and deliver those raw, tearful performances.
• Seeman (1994) was the film that made both of them a bankable romantic pair. After its success, at least three other Tamil directors rushed to cast them together — but the scripts never materialized, and they only reunited once more, a full decade later, for Adi Thadi (2004).
• On the sets of Adi Thadi (2004), Raj Kapoor and Sukanya barely spoke. By then, both had gone through personal upheavals — his marriage was falling apart, she had taken a break from films. The easy camaraderie from the 90s was gone. They finished the film, posed for photos, and never worked together again.
• Sukanya once said in a 2005 interview: 'Raj Kapoor was the only co-star who would rehearse a scene with me 10 times before the camera rolled. He never treated me like a junior artiste, even when I was one.'
