• Yogi Babu was still a struggling comedian when G. Marimuthu cast him in Veera Sivaji (2016). Marimuthu had seen Yogi's bit roles and insisted he play a full-fledged comic sidekick — that film became their first pairing and gave Yogi his first real break in a mainstream release.
• In Silukkuvarupatti Singam (2018), Marimuthu deliberately slowed down his own dialogue delivery to match Yogi Babu's deadpan rhythm. He told the director that Yogi's timing worked best when the straight man didn't rush — so Marimuthu played the 'serious' cop with long pauses, letting Yogi's one-liners land harder.
• On the sets of Nagarvalam (2017), Marimuthu would rehearse scenes with Yogi Babu in the van between locations — not because they needed it, but because Marimuthu wanted Yogi to feel confident about his lines. Yogi later said Marimuthu treated him like a younger brother, not just a co-actor.
