• Heera was a last-minute replacement in Idhayam (1991). The original heroine walked out, and director Kathir picked Heera after seeing her in a magazine ad. Manorama, already cast, had to adjust her entire performance to match a newcomer who had never faced a camera before.
• In Endrum Anbudan (1992), Manorama deliberately slowed down her dialogue delivery to match Heera's hesitant, natural rhythm. She told the director that Heera's 'real' pauses made the love scenes feel more honest than her own polished timing would allow.
• During the Pooveli (1998) shoot, Manorama would cook Heera's favourite sambar rice every Sunday on set. Heera later said that Manorama treated her like a younger sister, not a co-star — and that the food was the only thing that got her through the gruelling outdoor schedule.
• Manorama once said in a 1999 interview: 'Heera didn't know how to act. She just knew how to feel. I had to unlearn my training to keep up with her.'
• The success of Idhayam (1991) directly led to director Kathir being offered his next big project, which launched the career of a then-unknown actor named Suriya. None of that happens if Heera and Manorama's pairing didn't click in that first film.
