• Ganja Karuppu and Namo Narayana first shared screen space in Poraali (2011) because director Samuthirakanani specifically wanted two actors who could bring raw, rural authenticity. He cast them as a pair of village sidekicks who never left the hero's side — and that film put both on the map as reliable character actors.
• In Thondan (2017), Ganja Karuppu played the comic relief while Namo Narayana played the straight man. The trick? Narayana would deliberately flub his lines in rehearsals to make Karuppu laugh, and the director kept those genuine reaction shots in the final cut.
• Naadodigal 2 (2020) became a surprise hit largely because of their double-act comedy track. That film's success directly led to the director greenlighting a spin-off web series featuring the duo — though it never got made due to scheduling conflicts.
