• Director Venkat Prabhu handpicked both of them for Goa (2010) because he wanted fresh faces who could bounce off each other like real college buddies. Jai was already a known face from Chennai 600028, but Vaibhav was a total newcomer — Venkat bet the film's energy on their instant rapport.
• In Bramman (2014), Jai played the loud, impulsive village hothead while Vaibhav played the calm, sarcastic friend. Vaibhav told an interview that Jai would deliberately go over-the-top in rehearsals so Vaibhav could underplay his reactions — they built the comedy by pushing each other to opposite extremes.
• They never hung out outside sets. Vaibhav once said in a press meet that their friendship existed only inside the frame — they'd finish a scene, nod at each other, and go to separate vans. No phone calls, no dinners. Just pure professional trust.
• Jai said about Vaibhav in a 2016 interview: 'He’s the only actor who can make me look good by doing nothing. I scream, he just stands there — and the audience laughs at me.'
• Their third film together, Chennai 600028 II: Second Innings (2016), directly launched the career of actor Aravind Akash — he played a key supporting role and later became a regular in Venkat Prabhu's gang. That film's success also revived the 'friendship comedy' trend in Tamil cinema after a lull.
