• Chiranjeevi personally asked Soundarya to star opposite him in Rikshavodu (1995) after seeing her in a small role in another film. She was relatively new then, and he felt she had the spark to match his energy.
• In Choodalani Vundi (1998), Soundarya’s character was the calm, grounded one while Chiranjeevi played the hyperactive lover. She later said in an interview that she had to deliberately slow down her reactions so his manic energy wouldn’t overwhelm the scene.
• During the shoot of Annayya (2000), Soundarya would bring homemade sweets for the entire crew every Friday. Chiranjeevi once joked that he only agreed to do the film because he knew he’d get free snacks.
• Sri Manjunatha (2001) was a devotional film where both played mythological roles. It was Soundarya’s last Telugu film before her sudden death in a plane crash in 2004. Chiranjeevi later said he couldn’t watch the film for years because it reminded him of her.
• Chiranjeevi once told a fan magazine: “Soundarya was the only co-star who could make me forget my lines. She’d look at me with those big eyes, and I’d just blank out.”
