• Jackie Shroff was already a star when they first shot Yudh (1985), but Pran — then 65 and a legendary villain — insisted on being introduced to Jackie's mother before signing the film. Jackie later said Pran treated him like a son from day one.
• In Kudrat Ka Kanoon (1987), Pran played Jackie's father — but on set, Pran would deliberately flub his lines in the first take to make Jackie relax. Jackie later admitted that Pran's 'mistakes' were a trick to stop him from overacting.
• After Yudh wrapped, Pran gifted Jackie a gold ring with both their initials engraved. Jackie still wears it in public sometimes. He told a film magazine in 2019: 'That ring is older than my marriage.'
• Badmaash (1998) was Pran's last theatrical release before he retired from acting. Jackie personally convinced him to take the role, flying to Pune to narrate the script. Pran later said he only did it because 'Jackie wouldn't stop calling.'
• Jackie Shroff once said in an interview: 'Pran sahab taught me how to cry on camera. He said, "Beta, don't act sad — just think of the one thing you're most scared of losing." I still use that.'
• In 1942: A Love Story (1994), Pran played a British loyalist and Jackie played a freedom fighter. They had zero scenes together — but Pran insisted on being on set during Jackie's big monologue, just to 'give him the right energy from behind the camera.'
