• Alia Bhatt was the one who pushed Karan Johar to cast Shah Rukh Khan in 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'. She told Karan the film needed SRK's scale and that she'd feel safer acting opposite him. Karan later admitted he hadn't even considered SRK until Alia insisted.
• In 'Dear Zindagi', Shah Rukh Khan deliberately underplayed his scenes to let Alia's character breathe. He told director Gauri Shinde he wanted to be the 'still point' so Alia's emotional outbursts would hit harder. The scene where she cries on his shoulder was shot in one take because SRK refused to break her flow.
• During 'Zero' shoot, Alia Bhatt would bring Shah Rukh Khan homemade Gujarati snacks every Friday. She knew he was on a strict diet for the film but smuggled in dhokla and thepla anyway. SRK later called her 'the only person who could make me cheat on my trainer'.

• The 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' song 'Alizeh' — where SRK and Alia dance in a snowy Kashmir — directly inspired the visual tone of Karan Johar's next directorial 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani'. Karan reused the same colour grading team and the same choreographer for Ranveer-Alia's 'Dhindora Baje'.
