• They were thrown together in 'Do Aur Do Paanch' (1980) because the producers wanted a 'dream combo' — but neither had ever shared a frame before. The director, Rakesh Roshan, bet on their contrasting energies to sell the comedy.
• In 'The Burning Train' (1980), Hema played the calm, grounded wife while Parveen played the fiery, impulsive girlfriend. The tension between their characters wasn't written — it came from how they naturally played off each other: Hema held the frame steady, Parveen kept it unpredictable.
• On the sets of 'Kranti' (1981), they shared a vanity van for weeks because the unit was shooting in remote locations. Parveen later told a journalist that Hema would braid her hair between takes — a small ritual that broke the ice between two very different personalities.
