• Sai Kumar personally recommended Thriller Manju for the villain role in Police Story (1996) after the director struggled to find someone who could match his intensity. Manju was a stuntman at the time, not a lead actor.
• In Khaki Chokka (2001), Sai Kumar and Manju shot a 12-minute chase sequence in one take. Manju choreographed the stunts himself, and Sai Kumar insisted on doing all his own falls — no doubles.
• On the sets of Narahari (2002), the two would spar for real before every fight scene. Manju later said it helped them 'find the rhythm' — they never rehearsed dialogue, only the physical beats.
• Their Janam (2002) was the first Telugu film to cast a real-life stuntman (Manju) as the main antagonist opposite a mainstream hero. It opened the door for other action choreographers to cross over into acting.
• Sai Kumar once said in an interview: 'Manju doesn't act — he just reacts. That's why our fights look real. I never knew what he'd throw at me until it was coming.'
• After Janam (2002), they never worked together again. No fallout — Manju simply moved back to stunt coordination, and Sai Kumar shifted to character roles. They still greet each other at functions but never planned a reunion.
