• Tanikella Bharani and Rahul Dev first faced off in Takkari Donga (2002). The director wanted a towering, menacing villain. Rahul Dev, a former model with zero Telugu film experience, was cast because Bharani — already a veteran writer-actor — vouched for him after a single meeting.
• In Naayak (2013), Bharani played a soft-spoken father figure while Rahul Dev played a cold-blooded antagonist. Their only shared scene is a tense confrontation. Bharani later said Rahul Dev’s silence in that scene forced him to slow his own delivery — making the moment land harder.
• On the sets of Allari Pidugu (2005), Rahul Dev couldn’t speak Telugu. Tanikella Bharani, a dialogue writer for many films, would translate his lines into Hindi and then rehearse the scene with him in both languages before the camera rolled. They did this for every single take.
