• Jai was a complete newcomer when Venkat Prabhu cast him in Chennai 600028. Nithin Sathya was already a known face from TV. Jai later said Nithin took him under his wing on day one — taught him how to hit marks in front of a camera.
• In Chennai 600028, Nithin Sathya played the loud, brash captain while Jai played the quiet, brooding all-rounder. Off-screen, it was the reverse: Jai kept the energy up between takes, Nithin stayed focused. They balanced each other out.
