• Meenakshi Seshadri was the first choice for Vijay (1988), but Rishi Kapoor wasn't. The producers wanted a bigger star opposite her. Rishi had to convince them he could pull off the younger, action-hero role — and he did, by agreeing to a drastic weight cut and a new look.
• On the set of Bade Ghar Ki Beti (1989), Rishi would deliberately flub his lines in the first take just to make Meenakshi laugh. She told a trade magazine later that his goofing around actually loosened her up — she was nervous doing comedy, and he made it feel like a game.
• Their pairing in Damini - Lightning (1993) directly led to Meenakshi being cast in the Tamil remake of the same film. Rishi recommended her to the South Indian producers, saying she had the intensity for the courtroom climax. That remake became a hit in Tamil too.
• During the shoot of Ghar Parivar (1991), Rishi and Meenakshi developed a private ritual: before every emotional scene, they'd sit silently for two minutes, holding hands. Meenakshi later said it was his idea — he called it 'borrowing each other's heartbeat' to sync their performances.
• Rishi Kapoor once said in a 1993 interview: 'Meenakshi is the only co-star who never complained about my pranks. She'd just stare at me with those big eyes and I'd forget my next line. That's why our scenes together feel real — because I was genuinely lost in her.'
