• Suriya and Trisha first met on the sets of Mounam Pesiyadhe (2002). The director, A. R. Murugadoss, was a debutant then. He cast them both as fresh faces — neither was a star yet. That film put both of them on the map.
• In Aaytha Ezhuthu (2004), Suriya played a hot-headed student activist and Trisha played his love interest. Mani Ratnam made them rehearse scenes for weeks before shooting. Trisha later said Suriya's intensity on set made her raise her own game — he set the pace, she matched it.
• During the shoot of Aaru (2005), Suriya and Trisha became close friends off-screen. They would often have dinner together after pack-up. But after Aaru released, they never worked together again. No fallout — just drifted apart as careers took different paths.
