• Before Baahubali, Anushka and Rana had never shared screen space. Rajamouli cast them together because he needed a pair that looked like they could be siblings in one timeline and lovers in another — and their height difference (both towering) sold the epic scale.
• On the Baahubali sets, Rana would deliberately stand a step behind Anushka during their fight rehearsals. He told the stunt director that Devasena should visually dominate the frame — so he let her lead every combat scene, even when his character was supposed to be the stronger one.
• During the Rudramadevi shoot in 2015, Anushka and Rana shared a vanity van for three months because the set in Hyderabad had limited space. • Anushka was the one who pushed Rana to take the role of Kattappa in Baahubali. He initially hesitated because the character was a slave with minimal dialogue in the first film. She told him: 'Trust Rajamouli. This role will make you immortal.' She was right.
