• Sridhar cast Gemini Ganesan in Meenda Sorgam (1960) only after his first choice, Sivaji Ganesan, turned it down. Gemini later admitted he was Sridhar's backup plan.
• On the sets of Then Nilavu (1961), Sridhar would write dialogue in the morning and Gemini would rewrite it in his own rhythm by lunch. Sridhar never complained — he said Gemini's version always sounded more natural.
• During Sumaithaangi (1962), Gemini would bring Sridhar filter coffee from his favorite shop every single day of the shoot. Sridhar returned the favour by never scheduling Gemini for early morning calls.
• The success of Then Nilavu (1961) directly inspired Sridhar to make his own directorial debut with Nenjil Oru Aalayam (1962) — a film that launched a whole new romantic-realist style in Tamil cinema.
• Gemini once said: 'Sridhar made me act like a real man, not a matinee idol. He stripped the gloss off me.' — from a 1985 interview with Kalki magazine.
• In Meenda Sorgam (1960), Sridhar deliberately shot Gemini's romantic scenes in long, unbroken takes — forcing Gemini to hold his expressions without cuts. That film made Gemini drop his usual theatrical style for good.
