• Ashok Kumar was already a legendary figure when Anil Kapoor was a newcomer. Their first film together, Hifazat (1987), was actually a launchpad for Anil — Ashok specifically agreed to do the film only if Anil was cast as the lead, giving the younger actor a massive career boost.
• On the sets of Inteqam (1988), Ashok Kumar would deliberately flub his lines in the first take to make Anil Kapoor laugh and loosen up. Anil later said this was Ashok's way of breaking the ice and making him feel comfortable acting opposite a legend.
