• Tabu was just 22 when she signed Vijaypath opposite Ajay Devgan. She later admitted she was terrified of him on set — he was already a star, and she thought he was intimidatingly serious. He broke the ice by cracking terrible jokes during a fight scene.
• In Thakshak (1999), Ajay played a violent gangster and Tabu played his conflicted wife. The film's director, Govind Nihalani, said the tension in their scenes came from Ajay pushing his intensity to the max while Tabu pulled back — she made him look dangerous by being completely still.
• Drishyam (2015) was the first time they played a married couple with kids. The film's success directly led to a wave of thriller remakes in Bollywood — including Badla (2019) and Ittefaq (2017). Without their grounded, no-makeup performances, that trend might never have taken off.
• They never dated, never had a public fallout, and never even hung out socially. But Tabu once said in an interview that Ajay is the only co-star she can call at 3 AM if she's in trouble — and he'd show up without asking why.
• Ajay Devgn on Tabu: 'She doesn't act. She just becomes the character. I have to work twice as hard when I'm opposite her because she makes it look so easy.' He said this during the promotions of Drishyam in 2015.
