• Venu Thottempudi was a rising star when he agreed to do Chiru Navvuto (2000) — but M. S. Narayana was already a veteran comedian. Narayana personally asked Venu to pair up for the film, betting that their age gap would create a funny uncle-nephew dynamic on screen.
• In Kalyana Ramudu (2003), Narayana would deliberately flub his lines during rehearsals to make Venu laugh, then use that genuine reaction in the final take. Venu later said Narayana’s timing forced him to stay on his toes — one wrong pause and the scene would collapse.
• Their highest-rated film together, Kushi Kushiga (2004), directly inspired a wave of buddy-comedy road movies in Telugu — including the 2006 hit ‘Happy’ starring Allu Arjun. The producer of that film admitted in an interview that the Narayana-Venu banter in Kushi Kushiga was the template.
