Chandra Mohan (born Mallampalli Chandrasekhara Rao) was a prolific Telugu cinema actor who appeared in nearly 900 films over a career spanning more than five decades, transitioning from lead roles to character roles. He won the Nandi Award for Best Actor for his debut film Rangula Ratnam (1966) and the Filmfare Best Actor Award (Telugu) for Padaharella Vayasu (1978), in which he starred opposite Sridevi. He was notably a cousin of filmmaker K. Viswanath and singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, and several leading actresses including Sridevi and Jaya Prada had breakout films alongside him. He passed away on 11 November 2023 after a heart-related ailment, leaving behind an unmatched legacy as a character actor in films such as Neeya (1979), Routine Love Story (2012), and All the Best (2012).
