• Vinayak cast NTR in 'Aadi' (2002) after seeing his raw energy in a stage show. NTR was just 19 and had only one film out. Vinayak bet his entire career on that performance — and it paid off. 'Aadi' became a blockbuster and launched both of them into the big league.
• On the sets of 'Samba' (2004), Vinayak realized NTR could switch from mass hero to comic timing in the same shot. So he started writing longer, unbroken takes — letting NTR improvise dialogue mid-scene. That film's comedy track is still quoted in Telugu households.
• The success of 'Aadi' (2002) directly inspired a wave of mass-market action films in Telugu. Producers started demanding 'Aadi-style' fight sequences — slow-motion hero entries with heavy bass. That template ruled Telugu cinema for the next five years.
• Vinayak and NTR never hung out outside sets. Their relationship was strictly professional. But Vinayak once said NTR would call him at 2 AM to discuss a single dialogue change — and Vinayak would pick up every time. No small talk, just work.
• Vinayak said in a 2010 interview: 'NTR doesn't need a director. He needs someone to hold the camera and stay out of his way. I just made sure the frame was wide enough for his energy.'
• In 'Adhurs' (2010), Vinayak gave NTR a double role — a first for the actor. He made NTR play both a hyperactive village boy and a suave city guy. NTR shot both parts in the same day, changing costumes and accents between takes. Vinayak edited the scenes to make it look like two different actors.
