• Shakti Kapoor and Tina Munim first faced off in 'Lootmaar' (1980) because the director wanted a fresh pairing to rival Amitabh-Rekha. Shakti was still a villain-in-training; Tina was fresh off 'Khatta Meetha'. The gamble worked — they got a hit.
• In 'Rocky' (1981), Shakti played the comic sidekick to Tina's leading lady. Their scenes worked because Shakti deliberately slowed his delivery to match Tina's natural rhythm — he said later he 'let her lead the laugh' while he set up the punch.
