• Shakti Kapoor and Manoj Joshi first shared screen space in 'Bin Bulaye Baraati' (2011) because the director needed two veteran comedians who could play off each other without stepping on each other's lines. Joshi later said Kapoor insisted on rewriting their joint scenes to give Joshi more punchlines.
• In 'Mr Joe B. Carvalho' (2014), Kapoor played the bumbling senior cop and Joshi the straight-faced sidekick. Joshi deliberately slowed his delivery in every scene with Kapoor, creating a rhythm where Kapoor's manic energy bounced off Joshi's deadpan pauses. The director told them to keep the first take every time because the timing was accidental and unrepeatable.
• On the set of 'Bhouri' (2016), Kapoor and Joshi shared a vanity van because the budget was too tight for separate ones. They spent the downtime teaching each other regional dialects — Kapoor learned a few lines in Gujarati from Joshi, and Joshi picked up Kapoor's signature 'Oye' inflection for a scene.

• Their pairing in 'Choron Ki Baraat' (2015) was so chaotic that the editor had to cut an entire subplot where they played con men pretending to be father-son. That unused footage later inspired a short film by the same editor, which won a national award for best comedy short in 2017.
• After 'Anari is backk' (2023) wrapped, Kapoor gifted Joshi a gold-plated whistle — a reference to their first film together where Kapoor's character constantly blew a whistle to summon Joshi's character. Joshi still keeps it on his desk.
