• Their first film together, Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen (2017), was almost a solo project. Director Ezhil originally wrote only Mansoor Ali Khan's role. Yogi Babu was brought in later to add comic relief after the script felt too heavy. They shot their scenes separately — they didn't share a single frame together in that film.
• In Gulaebaghavali (2018), Mansoor Ali Khan played the straight-faced, angry father. Yogi Babu played the nervous, stammering son-in-law. The comedy came from Mansoor's deadpan delivery forcing Yogi to overcompensate with physical comedy. Yogi later said in an interview that Mansoor's silence on set made him panic — and that panic became his character's energy.
• Their 2018 hit Sema (6.8/10) directly launched a new trend in Tamil comedy: the 'unlikely duo' road movie. Before Sema, most comedies paired a hero with a sidekick. This film made both characters equally clueless. Three other Tamil films in 2019-2020 copied the exact same 'two idiots on a chaotic trip' template.
• On the sets of Yenda Thalaiyila Yenna Vekkala (2018), Mansoor Ali Khan would deliberately mess up his lines to make Yogi Babu laugh during takes. Yogi would then retaliate by improvising nonsense dialogues. The director had to shoot extra takes because both kept breaking character. They still joke about this at industry events.
• Yogi Babu said about Mansoor Ali Khan in a 2023 podcast: 'He is the only co-star who can make me laugh without saying a word. He just stares at me with that serious face, and I lose it. We ruined so many takes because of that.'
• Pichaikkaran 2 (2023) was their only film together that wasn't a comedy. It was a social drama. The film earned over 35 crores — their highest-grossing collaboration. But they never promoted it together. Mansoor was recovering from an injury, and Yogi was shooting in another city. They haven't worked together since.
