• They first met on the sets of Seethamma Andalu Ramayya Sitralu (2016). Raj Tarun was the lead, but Raja Ravindra was cast as his father. The director wanted an older actor with a softer screen presence. Raja Ravindra got the role because he agreed to shoot on a single condition — no separate vanity van, he wanted to sit with the junior artists and chat between takes.
• In Power Play (2021), Raja Ravindra deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery in every scene with Raj Tarun. He told the director that Raj’s natural rhythm was fast and nervous, so he needed to pull the tempo back. That contrast — Raj rushing, Raja dragging — became the film’s emotional anchor in their father-son confrontation scene.
• Between films, they never called each other. No phone calls, no texts. But every time a new project was announced, Raja Ravindra would send Raj Tarun a single WhatsApp message: a photo of a coffee cup. That was their code for “let’s work again.” Raj still has all three photos saved.
• Raja Ravindra said in a 2022 interview: “Raj is the only co-star who never once asked me for acting tips. He just watched me from the corner of his eye during rehearsals. That silence taught me more than any conversation could.”
• Their on-screen father-son dynamic in Seethamma Andalu Ramayya Sitralu directly inspired the casting of a real-life father-son duo in the 2018 film Naa Peru Surya. The director of that film admitted in a press meet that he wanted the same “unspoken tension” they had, so he cast a real father and son instead.
