• Mere Do Anmol Ratan (1998) was supposed to launch a new hero. But the producers panicked and brought in Arshad Warsi as a last-minute replacement. Mukul Dev, already signed, vouched for Arshad to the director. That phone call saved the film from being shelved.
• In Mujhe Meri Biwi Se Bachaao (2001), Mukul Dev played the straight-laced husband while Arshad Warsi played the chaotic friend. Mukul told a trade magazine that Arshad would deliberately flub his lines to make Mukul break character — and the director kept those takes because they looked more natural.
• After Bhaiyyaji Superhitt (2018) tanked critically, Mukul and Arshad didn't speak for two years. Not because of a fight — they were both embarrassed by the film's reception. They finally patched up over chai at a mutual friend's wedding in 2020.
