• Singampuli actually wrote the role of 'Kodi' in Manam Kothi Paravai (2012) specifically for Soori after seeing his raw energy in a small TV skit. The director wanted a more established comedian, but Singampuli insisted Soori was the only one who could pull off that specific village swagger.
• In Vellaikaara Durai (2014), Singampuli would deliberately flub his lines during rehearsals to throw Soori off, forcing him to improvise on the spot. Soori later admitted this 'pressure test' is what made their comic timing so sharp — Singampuli kept him on his toes every single take.
• The success of Pakka (2018) — despite its low IMDb score — directly launched Soori into solo lead roles. Before this film, producers only saw him as a sidekick comedian. After Pakka became a hit, three separate production houses offered him hero projects within six months.
• On the sets of Manam Kothi Paravai, Singampuli and Soori shared a single room in a budget lodge near Tenkasi for the entire 45-day shoot. They'd rehearse scenes at 3 AM because both were insomniacs. Soori still calls that lodge 'our film school'.
• Soori once said in a 2019 interview: 'Singampuli doesn't act with you — he fights with you on screen. That fight is what makes the comedy real. If he doesn't push you to the wall, the scene is dead.'
