• Radha Mohan first approached Narayan to act in 'Payanam' (2011) after being impressed by his comic timing in a stage play. Narayan initially said no — he thought he was too young to play a senior air force officer. Radha Mohan convinced him by showing him a real-life photo of a young wing commander.
• On the sets of 'Gaganam' (2011), Narayan would quietly rewrite his own lines in Tamil to match his natural speech rhythm. Radha Mohan noticed and started leaving his scenes blank in the script — he told Narayan, 'You write your own dialogue. I'll just frame the shot.'
• The success of 'Payanam' (2011) directly led to Radha Mohan casting Narayan in 'Uppu Karuvadu' (2015) — but this time as a lead. That film became Narayan's first solo hero project in Tamil cinema. Without Radha Mohan's push, Narayan might never have moved out of supporting roles.
• During the shoot of 'Uppu Karuvadu' (2015), Radha Mohan and Narayan shared a room in a small lodge near the location. They would stay up past midnight every night, arguing over which old Tamil comedy film had the best climax scene. Narayan later said those nights taught him more about screenwriting than film school.
• Narayan once said in an interview: 'Radha Mohan is the only director who let me fail on screen. He'd watch my worst take, laugh, and say — now do it worse. That's how I found my real voice.'
