Payanam (2011) is a Tamil action thriller film directed and co-written by Radha Mohan. The film stars Nagarjuna as Major N. Raveendra, an NSG commando, and Prakash Raj as Home Secretary K. Vishwanath. The story follows a flight from Chennai to Delhi that is hijacked by five terrorists. The plane makes an emergency landing at Tirupati Airport, where authorities must negotiate while a commando plans a rescue. The film was simultaneously shot in Telugu as Gaganam. It received positive reviews for its realistic portrayal of a hijack crisis and its blend of tension with humour. The film won the Best Director award at the Norway Tamil Film Festival and the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Script Writer. Payanam was released on 11 February 2011.

Storyline
